POZNAN BRAND CONSORTIUM

Based on the 2009 City Development Strategy, Poznań is the first city in Poland to develop a platform for sustained promotion and marketing co-operation. Poznan Brand Consortium will be the platform for cooperation among the City of Poznań and institutions of economic, social, cultural and scientific significance in terms of the image of the city. One of such institutions is Poznan International Fair - a company closely linked with the capital of Wielkopolska

The Consortium will initiate its operations on 1 November with a nationwide promotional campaign. Poznan Brand Consortium invites to partnership strong and prestigious brands related to and associated with the City of Poznań through the office of the manufacturer, place of manufacture or historical origins. The activities of the City and members of the Brand Consortium will cover joint operations in the area of promotion and marketing. The cooperation within the Brand Consortium will be structured and stable. It will symbolized by logo "Made in Poznan" already familiar due to its characteristic blue asterisk.

Poznan Brand Consortium is a nationwide-unique activity in the field of city promotion – claims Łukasz Goździor, Director of the Promotion Office of the City of Poznań - The project grows out of the belief that the city is made of its brands and the people who created them. The potential of the city, its character and identity is built with its best brands operating within the metropolis. Image potential is created with brands which represent the most reliable companies in Poznań, unique social, cultural and sports projects, as well as people for whom Poznań is the school of life.

Thanks to the cooperation within Poznan Brand Consortium and with the support of a unique logo: Made in POZnan*, the flagship products of the city (including Allegro, the largest Internet auctions service; Piotr i Paweł, domestic food brand; the designer products of VOX, the trade show experience of the Poznań International Trade Fair, 100-year-old Nivea cream, MAN and Solaris buses; as well as cars from Volkswagen factory) will inform both foreigners and citizens of other Polish cities of their place of origin.

Poznan is building its image based on a unique project that goes far beyond traditional forms of territorial marketing promotion. The city draws from the experience of great European cities. One of them includes the activities of Barcelona and Barcelona Activa project, as well as Berlin Partner project which integrates the city's economic and social potential. The image effect crosses the boundaries of the city.
